In April 2026, my postgraduate friend, Agnes, and I travelled to Japan with EVA Air. During our twelve-day journey, we explored several fascinating cities, including Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Nagano, and finally Tokyo. Each destination offered unique cultural experiences, delicious local cuisine, and breathtaking scenery, making the trip both memorable and rewarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 13 April 2026, we touched down at Kansai International Airport (KIX), excited to begin our journey in Japan. To reach Osaka city centre, we decided to travel by train using the Kansai Mini Pass, which offers unlimited travel on selected JR lines across the Kansai region for three consecutive days. The pass cost 3,000 yen per person, and we easily collected it from a self-service ticket machine at the airport. The process was quick, convenient, and an excellent way to start our adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first day in Japan did not go exactly as planned. We arrived at our hotel hoping to check in early, but check-in was only available from 3:00 p.m., and unfortunately, the hotel did not provide luggage storage. Although we were initially disappointed, we reminded ourselves that every cloud has a silver lining. While waiting, we wandered around the neighborhood and discovered a local supermarket filled with fresh and affordable Japanese food. The highlight was undoubtedly the sashimi, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. In the end, what seemed like an inconvenience became one of our first memorable experiences in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
